When ซีรี่ย์จีน พากย์ไทย came out, I was so excited to see it. However after seeing it, i was disenchanted. I thought that it fully missed the point of the guide and was a whole mess. The modern day rap music, remixes and elaborate set pieces just took away from the story. I also felt that the director Baz Luhrmann was going for an extreme amount of and overdid it. I understand that he needed to make it more entertaining and hip but I feel like it just distracted from the story. Overall the acting was good, particularly Leonardo DiCaprio's performance as Gatsby. He actually nailed the person's pains and struggles with his compulsive smoothing of his hair, his tight crossing of his legs, the royal wave and his fixed fastening of that high suit button. Overall the film is properly done however it is positively not for everybody.

This is a flawed but intriguing experiment that exhibits just how tough it might be to take F. Scott Fitzgerald's words and create a compelling movie from them. PG-13.
