First Participation in World Club Championship

from web site

Vietnam's women's volleyball team faced an emotional moment in the club competition following the national team.

Dec. 13, 2023, will remain in history as the day when Vietnam debuted at the FIVB Women's Club World Championship. The match against Vakfvank (Turkiye), the winner of the Champions League of the European Volleyball Federation (CEV), lost by a set score of 0-3 (10:25 15:25 13:25).

The "Sports Center 1", consisting of the Vietnamese national team, won the 23rd Asian Volleyball Federation (AVC) Women's Club Championship, which participated as the host country in May. Three players, including MVP Tiantantui (26, Blue Cats of Japan), were named in the best 7 of the tournament, and their personal abilities were also recognized.

Vietnam, which had never ranked third in the Asian Volleyball Federation Women's Club Championship, gained confidence. This is considered to be the driving force behind the national team's record-high performance of ranking fourth in the 22nd Asian Volleyball Federation Women's Championship in September this year.

The world ranking of the women's national team, updated by the International Volleyball Federation on the day Vietnam made history, is 39th, higher than that of Korea (40th). This is also the case with recent performances such as Vietnam, ranked fourth in the AVC Championship, Vietnam, ranked sixth, and Vietnam, ranked fifth at the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games in China.
