60 head and assistant referees confirmed for this year’s professional soccer K-League…

The Korea Football Association Referee Committee announced on the 15th that it has confirmed the list of referees who will be active in this year's professional soccer K League 1 and 2 and semi-professional league K3 and K4 leagues.

This list was decided based on last year's individual ratings and physical fitness test results.

Of the total 124 referees, there are a total of 60 referees, including referees and assistant referees, who will supervise the professional leagues K-League 1 and K-League 2.

There are 12 referees in K League 1 and 18 in K League 2. There are 12 assistant referees in K League 1 and 18 in K League 2.

The 12 referees in K League 1 are Ko Hyeong-jin, Kim Dae-yong, Kim Yong-woo, Kim Woo-sung, Kim Jong-hyuk, Kim Hee-gon, Park Byeong-jin, Shin Yong-jun, Lee Dong-jun, Jeong Dong-sik, Chae Sang-hyeop, and Choi Hyeon-jae. Among the K-League 1 and 2 referees, there are seven referees (Video Match Officials) who are assigned solely for video review.

Referees who are unable to complete the physical fitness test due to reasons such as participation in the Qatar Asian Cup or injury will be assigned to the game after undergoing a final physical fitness test.

The professional reserve referee system, which consists of young referees with potential for development among amateur league referees, will continue to operate this year as it did last year. This year, there are 8 professional reserve referees (5 referees, 3 assistant referees). They are usually sent to the K3 and K4 leagues and receive frequent training and evaluation of their abilities. Depending on the evaluation results, allocation to next year's professional league will be determined.
