NC completes the salary contract for the 2024 season

The NC Dinos have completed their salary contract for the 2024 season.

The NC Dinosaurs said on the same day that they completed the team's annual salary contract for 2024 on Saturday. A total of 69 players were subject to renewal of their contracts in 2023, excluding rookies and free agents.

Last year, the NC Dinosaurs outperformed expectations. Due to the absence of key players, the NC Dinosaurs was considered the last-place candidate before the season's opening, but recorded 75 wins, two draws and 67 losses to secure a ticket to the postseason by ranking fourth.

With the fall breeze, NC Dinos became stronger. From the wild card game to the second playoff game, NC Dinos won six consecutive postseason games in the 2023 season and nine consecutive fall baseball games, including Game 4 of the 2020 Korean Series. This was the longest winning streak in fall baseball that Haitai Tigers set over two seasons from 1987 to 1988. Unfortunately, they did not play in the Korean Series, but their fighting spirit and performance were enough to receive a lot of applause.

Having enjoyed such a good season, the increase rate of players' performance was also high. Kim Young-kyu, a left-handed bullpen pitcher who solidified NC`s back by posting two wins, four losses and 24 holds with an ERA of 3.06 in 63 games (61.2 innings) last year, signed at 225 million won (approx., up 61 percent from 140 million won, making him the highest-paid player except for the FA.

Ryu Jin-wook and Seo Ho-cheol respectively recorded the highest rate of increase in pitchers and batters. Right-hander Ryu, who pitched in 70 games (67 innings) in the 2023 season and posted an ERA of 1 win, 4 losses and 22 holds, increased 120 percent from the previous 75 million won, or 165 million won, respectively. Infielder Seo Ho-cheol, who recorded a batting average of 0.287 (114 hits in 397 at-bats) with five homers and 41 RBIs in 114 regular season games, also signed a contract of 120 million won, up a whopping 167 percent from 45 million won. It is also the first time for both players to earn around 100 million won per year.

In addition to Ryu Jin-wook and Seo Ho-cheol, Kim Joo-won (160 million won), Kim Si-hoon (110 million won), and Ha Joon-young (110 million won) also surpassed the annual salary of hundreds of millions for the first time.

Outfielder Kwon Hee-dong signed a contract for 150 million won, up 67 percent from 90 million won. Right-hander Young Gun Lee Yong-joon signed the contract for 67 million won, up 91 percent from 35 million won.     안전놀이터
