Indonesia, which finished its group stage in third place in Group D (1 win, 2 losses, 3 points), had to watch the match against Kyrgyzstan in Group F to advance to the round of 16. Indonesia has increased its chance to advance to the round of 16 by beating China with a point in the competition for the third-place team.

It was impossible to advance on its own with a complete defeat of 1-3 by Japan, but Oman ended up in a draw with Kyrgyzstan on the same day, allowing them to get their hands on the last remaining tickets to the round of 16.
