In the ALC East Asian group league, in which a total of 20 clubs will compete in five groups, the top-ranked team in each group and three of the second-ranked teams will advance to the round of 16. In the K-League, two teams from Pohang, which has already been confirmed as No. 1 in Group J, to Ulsan, have joined the round of 16. Jeonbuk and Incheon will also seek to advance to the round of 16.

For Ulsan, Kawasaki had already been confirmed to advance to the round of 16, but he gave up the first goal after receiving a sharp attack. In the 17th minute of the first half, Cho Hyun-woo blocked God Yamada's left-footed shot following Yusuke Segawa's pass, but Daiya Dono hit the floating ball with a volley shot from the right side of the goal area to shake the net.

Ulsan, which struggled with Kawasaki's pressure and side attacks, allowed Tatsuki Seko to score one more goal in the 31st minute of the first half. Yamada knocked down Ulsan's right side and connected it to Segawa. Cho Hyun-woo and the defense threw themselves to block Segawa's calm shot, but it was not enough to block Segawa's shot.

Ulsan, which was being dragged 2-0 down, had a chance in the 44th minute of the first half. Um Won-sang's ball from the right side of the penalty area was deflected off the opponent, and Martin Adam, who was sitting in front of the net, slightly took it with his head and shook the net to finish the first half 1-2.

Ulsan then balanced with a penalty kick in the eighth minute of the second half. A penalty kick was declared after VAR confirmed that Yuto Matsunagane, the opponent team's defender, knocked Kim Young-kwon, who was running to win the ball inside the penalty area. Kicker Martin Adam calmly kicked with his left foot to score the equalizer. It was Martin Adam's fifth goal in the ALC.

Ulsan attacked, aiming to turn the tables, but failed to create any more decisive opportunities.
