He’s the 1st choice for Rookie of the Year 

Doosan's 'super rookie' Kim Taek-yeon showed off his gutsy pitching skills.

Kim Taek-yeon made a relief appearance in the '2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League' game against KT held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on the 10th and pitched well with 2 hits and 3 strikeouts in 1 inning, recording his 3rd hold of the season.

In a critical situation with no outs and runs on 2nd and 3rd base, KT used Park Byeong-ho as a pinch hitter instead of Kim Geon-hyung, and Kim Taek-yeon used a 150km four-seam fastball and struck out on 5 pitches. The next batter, Shin Bon-gi, also struck out after just 6 pitches if he was to win with only a fastball. Oh Yoon-seok also threw a 150km fastball and ended the inning with a missed swing and a strikeout.

He has already received the stamp of approval from coach Seung-yeop Lee as the spring training MVP.
