Shin-ae Ahn, 33, shot under par for the second straight day at the Japan Ladies Professional Golf (JLPGA) Tour Qualifying Tournament (QT), giving her a green light to return to the JLPGA next year.
Ahn carded three birdies and one bogey for a 2-under 70 in the second round of the tournament on Monday at Kazuki Golf Club (Par 72) in Fukuroishi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. After a fresh start to the tournament with a 3-under 69 on the first day, Ahn shot under par for the second straight day and is tied for fourth place with a 5-under 139 total.
The QT final will be played for a spot on next season's JLPGA Tour. Played over four rounds of 72-hole stroke play, the top 35 finishers will earn a spot on the JLPGA Tour early next year. Your chances of qualifying will depend on your ranking. The seeding will then be adjusted through two re-rankings in the first half of the year.
Ahn made her debut on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour and won three times, before moving to the JLPGA Tour in 2017. She played three seasons until 2019, but has yet to win a tournament. After failing to maintain her seeding, Ahn took a hiatus from the tour during the COVID-19 pandemic and hasn't competed since until this year. She hopes to return to the tour next year through this tournament. 토토
