OK Financial Group to come from behind to beat Hyundai Capital 3-2

The men's professional volleyball OK Financial Group won after a bloody battle and opened the "spring volleyball."

OK Financial Group, ranked third in the regular league, beat fourth-ranked Hyundai Capital with a set score of 3-2 (22-25 25-22 25-21 22-25 15-13) in a single postseason semi-playoff match of Dodram 2023-2024 V-League held at Sangnoksu Gymnasium in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province on the 21st.

OK Financial Group will advance to the playoffs with two wins out of three games to face Woori Card, the second-ranked team in the regular league. OK Financial Group, which was eliminated three years ago after losing two games to Woori Card in the playoffs, has a chance to avenge itself in three years.

The two teams, which had been tight with 3 wins and 3 losses in four full-set matches in six regular league matches this season, fought fiercely again on this day.

Hyundai Capital got off to a good start. As the triangle formation led by Ahmed Iqbairi (registered name Ahmed), Heo Soo-bong and Jeon Kwang-in exploded and blocked and received well, the team won the first set 25-22 to gain the upper hand.

However, OK Financial Group immediately launched a counterattack. If Hyundai Capital played volleyball, in which all players scored, OK Financial Group pinned its fate on the shoulders of its "solver" Leonardo Leiva Martinez (registered name Leo).

However, Hyundai Capital again displayed concentration in the fourth set, with Heo Soo-bong struggling and Cha Young-seok's fastball properly exploding. Hyundai Capital, which maintained its lead despite persistent pursuit by OK Financial Group, dragged the game to the fifth set.

Leo, who constantly hit the ball with his offensive share exceeding 50 percent in all sets, became the biggest contributor to his victory, scoring 43 points, the most in a semi-playoff in history. Song Hee-chae added 15 points and Shin Ho-jin added 12 points.

Hyundai Capital had Ahmed (29 points), Heo Soo-bong (23 points) and Jeon Kwang-in (18 points) evenly, but lacked hindsight. In particular, Hyundai Capital committed 33 mistakes, 12 more than OK Financial Group, and it was painful that five of them came from the fifth set.  스포츠토토

However, Hyundai Capital, which had fallen to the bottom of the list and replaced Choi Tae-woong, ranked fourth under the acting coach Jin Soon-ki. Although it was eliminated in just one game, Hyundai Capital, which had a meaningful season by advancing to the postseason, is expected to enter next year.

OK Financial Group will play Woori Card in the playoffs from the 23rd and face off for the berth in the championship game.
