The following links provide information on our current economic situation through an analysis of key economic performance indicators.
The living wage calculator is an online tool used to estimate the cost of living in a community or region of the United States. The calculator lists typical expenses, the living wage and typical wages for the selected location. In many instances, the results confirm that many American families who work in low-wage jobs make insufficient income to live above the poverty line.
The CPI inflation calculator uses the average Consumer Price Index for a given calendar year. This data represents changes in prices of all goods and services purchased for consumption by urban households. This index value has been calculated every year since 1913. For the current year, the latest monthly index value is used.
This website provides information on GDP and changes in GDP overtime. The historical data could be used to identify changes in business cycles over time, and it informs us of what our domestic resources and workforce are currently producing.
