• A Louisiana man walked away from an Arkansas state park with a 2.89-carat white diamond in his hands
• Kalenda, joined by girlfriend Jodee, son Jaxson and five other family members, stopped at the park March on the way to a family reunion in Minnesota. After 20 minutes of searching, Kalenda found the diamond, but he didn't even realize the treasure he had found.
  
• Once he returns home from Minnesota, Kalenda says he is going to spend some time deciding what to do with the diamond he has named "Jax," after his infant son.
• "I'm thinking about keeping it and putting it into a ring," he said, adding that the diamond has been estimated to be worth as much as $20,000.

• Rachel Canning Goes Home After Suing Her Parents. But It's Not Over Yet
• Rachel Canning, the New Jersey teen who’s suing her parents for financial support, returned home to her family on Tuesday night. But the very next day Canning's lawyer demonstrated that the case is far from over by returning to court, requesting that the parents pay for a guardian to be appointed for their 18-year-old high school student.
  
• “Just a few days ago, Rachel Canning indicated she could not go back home with her parents and she required a promise of some financial assistance going forward," attorney Tanya Helfand wrote in her application to the court, highlighting the teen's quick turnaround in deciding to return to her parents' after living at a friend's for several months
• She noted that if her client decides to dismiss the case, it’s important that she does so “of her own free will” and not because of outside pressures, and added, “A psychologist certified that the parents are abusive
• School faculty certified that the parents abuse the child
• “The case is without any legal merit. Certain cases should not see the inside of a courtroom. This is one such case,” said Sarno, who recently replaced attorney Laurie Rush-Masuret on the case. “Government cannot police the day-to-day financial affairs of parents and their children while the family is intact.”

• UFC 171: Johny Hendricks outlasts Robbie Lawler to win welterweight title in tight decision
• Johny Hendricks lost a razor-thin decision for the welterweight title in his last outing, and he won one on Saturday in the main event of UFC 171.
• Hendricks won 48-47 on all three judges' cards, defeating Robbie Lawler in a stirring battle for the belt that had been vacated in December by Georges St-Pierre.

• "Hats off to him because he fought a hell of a fight," Lawler said.

   
• Lawler, too, fought an outstanding battle and the fight was there for anyone to win. Hendricks, though, clearly won the final round when the title hung in the balance and that is the mark of a champion.
• Hendricks landed a series of hard strikes as the fight came down the stretch, fighting off both fatigue and a very game opponent.

• Most felt Hendricks had done enough to win the title from St-Pierre in November in Las Vegas, but the judges gave St-Pierre a hotly disputed split decision.

   

  But when St-Pierre surrendered the belt, Hendricks got another chance.
