The Winter Soldier doesn't like having this Bucky guy in his head.
You're a killer, a monster, a machine; a soldier, a weapon, a hit man and a whore. So why is it, when Captain America looks at you, you feel like you're redeemed?
“Everyone is conspiring against me,” Steve laments, and Bucky pats his cheek.
“Poor baby,” he mocks. “Do you need me to protect you from the mean people on the internet?”
Steve sniffs self-righteously. “Yes.”
The first time they have sex post-serum, Steve couldn't quite control his strength. Nothing too serious, Bucky gets some bruises, but Steve feels terrible.
Bucky's just trying to figure out how to make it happen again.
"It never seems to happen in front of Steve, and it never seems to go so far that the officers would be obligated to step in. Even the worst of them have more sense than that -- even Hodge. So it's never too public, and it's never too violent, and all Bucky can do is keep his head down and hope they get bored with it soon."
Bucky learns that the Howling Commandos call him Mrs. Rogers behind his back.
Bucky's recovering nicely. Steve's oblivious. Sometimes it's best to set aside subtlety for action.
When they were kids, Bucky and Steve shared a bed every time one slept over at the other's house. During the war, when they shared a bed, it was for a completely different reason.
Steve is radiant and genuine, and Bucky will always need him, to be himself. He will always care for him, even when he doesn't remember him.
Steve's got the hang of this 21st century thing.
Steve owns a bookstore on the edge of town and loves his job, especially the customers who he gets to see and talk to - and, apparently, in this circumstance, make a complete fool of himself in front of.

There will never not be violence between them.
Mild-mannered reporter by day, superhero by… other parts of the day.
The one where Captain America has a day job, Bucky spends most of his time with superheroes and supervillains, and nothing is quite as normal as it seems.
"You have a strange taste in men," James replies without thinking and when he realizes what he is doing he hands over the sketch pad as quickly as possible. He does not flirt with people nor does he try to find out more about their tastes that easily. Not anymore.
Little guy just smiles, looks at him with blue, blue eyes and says, "Well, what are your tastes, then?"
He wishes desperately that he could pretend he doesn’t know, but he does. Knows now that maybe it was always gonna end up here.
