Edgar Westbrooks's List: Researching Credible Connections

  • Article 1

    Article from Yahoo News.

This article I found to be extremely credible, its time stamp was from the day I read it the authors name was list and hyperlinked at both top and bottom of the page, there were many different links given to various websites that had either pictures videos or more information. The page it self had a copyright and lastly the authors contact information was listed at the finish of the article confirming that, one she was a real person and two she wants to get in touch with her readers meaning content wise you can trust her writing. Based on the Ten C's I gave this article a rating of excellent it met all criteria to obtain such rating.

  • Article 2

    Article 2 from Google News.
This article is rather "cut and dry" if you will The information is there and besides that there really isn't much. The authors name is listed but not contact information. At the bottom of the page though there is hyperlinked names to the other reporters on the article, leading me to believe the information given was sound. There was no other sources or or other types of media to back the article such as photos or video leaving the page looking bland. I got this article from "goolge news" and it redirected me to a site called "REUTERS.COM" which I found strange.

  • Article 3

Article 3 from New York Times.
I have read very many New York Time articles in the past it happens to be my favorite online news page I love them based on the writing style alone. Based on the Ten C's I believe the article will score very high. The author of the page I know to be very credible from past research and although his contact information isn't listed on the is page I do have it. The time stamp is very recent and the topic it self is a very recent and relevant one. The page it self is very appealing having many pictures and quotes both that mean something the article interviews many "real" people and adds their picture to give you that sense of familiarity which a reader loves. The article also uses many figure and statistics that he backs up with sources or other peoples word. The NYTimes layout of website is very easy to navigate making it many peoples go to online news website, very understandably.

  • Article 4

Article 4 from Huffington post. The Huffington Post to me is rather ugly and seems "fake" not in a sense that, the information is false just that it gives of the impression that some unskilled crafted the webpage, from the layout to the font they used it just does not by any means appeal to me. Based on the Ten C's the information is very in depth and the author of the article (who is sited at the top and bottom of page) did a very thorough job of researching and writing his page from the people he some to from the case information he offered. Other then the singular picture at the top of the page the rest of the rather lengthy article was text and that got tedious. Content wise the article held true and held a copyright. The author him self is credible he has written many articles for Huffington Post and is quite successful.

  • Article 5

Article 5 from CNN.CNN, you can bet will have the oddest stories and report them in the most "news" like manner what I mean by this is its all about content and context there is nothing more then a photo for other forms of media. The Ten C's have multiple criteria to follow for the article to come close to decent and I feel as though CNN meet some of those criteria VERY Well and other VERY poorly, continuity and content was very good the article being posted then after wards being "updated" and content wise all that was there was the good stuff no fluffy crap. The authors name was listed but as far as contact information to research her credibility there was not so much! There was a copy write present at the bottom of the page, and the page was easy to navigate.
