The Clarinet Institute web site is the most detailed educational resource for clarinet.  Users can find recordings, videos, and free sheet music to use for educational purposes.  Many etude books, method books, duets, ensemble compositions, and solo literature can be accessed here.  The videos and recordings offer a catalog of solo and chamber performances for students to listen to and watch.

The woodwind fingering guide is the best resource for finding specific fingering charts for every woodwind instrument.  The woodwind fingering guide provides multiple fingerings for every note and specific fingering charts for every instrument relating to alternate fingerings, trill fingerings, and other extended techniques.  This resource is excellent for students who are starting a new instrument or wish to learn new notes.

This resource provides users with access to free customizable music staff paper.  Users can select different clefs, change orientation, add measures, and manage bar lines.  Students can utilize this resource for music theory, personal composition, and jazz transcribing while teachers can use this website to print sheet music to construct exercises, arrange/transpose parts, assign music theory problems, and for other uses.

This Jazz Transcriptions site not only houses many jazz transcriptions for all instrument, but it provides links to other transcription sites for additional material.  Students can access these transcriptions to practice jazz, sight reading, and for analyzing jazz theory.  I use jazz when practicing sight reading due to the added difficulty of syncopated rhythms and accidentals.

Metronome online provides users with free access to a metronome for performance practice.  This is a site I use a lot with my students.  The metronome is a facilitator for developing technique, especially with a musical instrument or voice.  Users can adjust tempos in order to practice passage at various speeds.

Tim Price provides free lessons on jazz improvisation, theory, and technique.  These lessons can translate to any instrument and provides a variety of topics for the beginning and advanced jazz player to digest.  The music can be opened in pdf form and printed for personal use.  I have used these exercises when teaching jazz theory and technique and is a great resource for jazz students

The Sax on the Web website contains valuable articles, transcriptions, and resources for all musicians including saxophonists.  The most popular aspect of this site is the forum.  The forum contains transcriptions, member compositions, insight on equipment, and many other discussion topics.  The forum marketplace allows users to list instruments and equipment for sale, allowing members to contact each other to purchase items.  Many college saxophone professors belong to this page and provide answers to user questions and valuable articles.  This is a great resource for all students, although the focus is on saxophone and other woodwinds.

The North American Saxophone Alliance website provides information regarding NASA events, upcoming performances, conference information, and an online forum.  I have attended the NASA conference and it was an amazing experience for me.  I have referred saxophone students to this page to learn about upcoming events, artists, and to interact with other saxophonists.

Pandora radio offers free customized radio stations that play songs relating to certain genres or artists. Listening is essential for musical development and understanding.  Students can access everything from jazz and classical, to Latin and opera.
