"The Daring Librarian" is  a cute, quirky, and fun blog by Gwyneth Jones,  a middle school librarian for librarians.  It has been nominated for many awards such as: 2010 EduBlog awards best library blog, 2011 EduBlog awards best educational wiki, 2011 EduBlog awards best librarian/library blog, and many more.  Gwyneth covers such topics in her blog as fun and goofy educational games, websites, and apps for students, as well as quirky and interesting library insight on her twitter.  The purpose of her blog is to help educators (specifically school librarians) find new and fun ways to incorporate some awesome technological learning in their classrooms/school libraries.

This is a fantastically well-put together LibGuide listing a bunch of different apps for different subjects, includes library resources as well. I would use this as another professional development resource, have students look at sites and apps that this Christopher Bean did such a good job of organizing and compiling.

Your source for the latest research news. -This seems like a good science resource for high school/higher education level students. Sadly not great for young students, but you could talk about things mentioned on the site and put it all into terms younger students could understand.

This is a great compilation for sites that have free educational videos, I didn't even know some of these sites existed.

This stood out as important for those of us library science. Could simplify this for middle school or younger age students, definitely good for high school as it is.
