There are three major sections of the pairwise matrix: lower, upper, and diag. The lower and upper may contain three plot types: continuous, combo, and discrete. The ‘diag’ only contains either continuous or discrete.

Very loosely, it's essentially a value below which you can be quite confident the value will be pretty numerically meaningless - in that any smaller value isn't likely to be an accurate calculation of the value we were attempting to compute.
But statistical meaning will have been lost far earlier. Note that p-values depend on assumptions, and the further out into the extreme tail you go the more heavily the true p-value (rather than the nominal value we calculate) will be affected by the mistaken assumptions, in some cases even when they're only a little bit wrong.
Do not use any value smaller than p < 0.001

Spearman’s rho is renowned for its simplicity and efficacy in small samples with weak correlations.
Kendall’s Tau-b is celebrated for its robustness, particularly in the presence of outliers or non-normal distributions.

An odds ratio (OR) calculates the relationship between a variable and the likelihood of an event occurring.
Odds definition: The probability of the event occurring divided by the probability of the event not occurring.
As you can see, the odds of an event occurring is a ratio itself. Therefore, an OR is a ratio of two ratios.

Whether using table() or xtab(), a simple way to add all margin totals to your table is with the function addmargins() from the stats package. Simply add your table or xtab object as the first argument to the addmargins() function, and a new table will be returned which includes these margin totals. This also works with tables of proportions.

By default, missing values are excluded from the counts; if you want a count for these missing values you must specify the argument useNA=“ifany” or useNA=“always”. The below examples show how to use this function.

prop.table(), which unlike table() takes in a table object as an argument and not the actual variables of interest.

Although a few data points are consistently collected, there is a clear lack of data on firearms in the US. It is impossible, for instance, to know the total number of firearms owned in the United States, or how many guns were bought in the past year, or what the most commonly owned firearms are. Instead, Americans are left to draw limited conclusions from available data, such as the number of firearms processed by the National Firearm Administration (NFA), the number of background checks conducted for firearm purchase, and the number of firearms manufactured. However, none of these metrics provide a complete picture because state laws about background checks and gun registration differ widely.

There is currently no requirement that federally licensed dealers report sales volume to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, so we don’t have complete data on individual purchases. But we do know how many guns are shipped to dealers from licensed manufacturers every year, because gunmakers are required to report those figures to the ATF. The agency releases gun production numbers, along with import and export figures, in its Annual Firearms Manufacturing and Exportation Report. “Production” is defined by the ATF as “firearms … manufactured and disposed of in commerce” — or sold — “during the calendar year.”

supplemented import totals with U.S. International Trade Commission import reports.
We found that more than 494 million firearms have been produced for the U.S. market since 1899, and the pace of that production has been increasing.
