With his back against the wall, Batman turns to his closest allies to help him save Gotham City from the clutches of Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight's army. A familiar face also returns to give The Dark Knight a message he cannot ignore. In the fourth and final installment of the Arkham Series, Bruce Wayne sets out into the night once again to thwart the plans of Scarecrow, Harley Quinn and Two-Face when they're supplied with weapons from the Penguin in their attempt to hunt the Knight and take his head. Asylum is still the most cohesive and comic accurate one and Origins has the best writing (i like City the least and the spin-off Blackgate is a dud) but this is the roundest package yet. The gameplay is the usual polished to hell and back deal with a surprising amount of diversity and the new Batmobile is a bit overused but it works unbelievably well for most of the game. The very engaging narrative uses a few fake outs too many, the continuity is now a mess and the Knight's identity (i predicted it in the thread about 2014's bugs) is exceptionally obvious and even a bit unresolved. That said i skipped a lot of sleep to finish all the story content that isn't a collect-a-thon. The audiovisual presentation is industry leading, John Noble's Scarecrow is the best version of the character to this day and another returning villain is in top form too. I even got to play as Azrael and see a comic accurate Professor Pyg (the M rating doesn't lie) so well done Rocksteady. A- and a Game of the Year contender. I have never looked forward to a game more then Arkham Knight. Everything was in place for this game to meet every expectation... And I hate to say, but this game is only slightly above average. The story of this game is just not that interesting. It just feels like an average Btman story at best. The game spoils the main villains identity half way through. The side quests are boring and uninspired. The use of the Batmobile is so overblown and overused. There is barely anything in this game that could be considered a boss fight. The DLC for this game is laughable. Take away the excellent graphics and your left with a game that just feels like a very generic ending. This may be the biggest missed opportunity I've seen in a long time. Story driven games live and die on their ability to tell a compelling narrative and had Rocksteady really taken the time to craft a compelling narrative with the characters then this game would rock. As is, its a painfully, pretty looking, lackluster action game. If it weren't for this being a Batman game I think a lot more people would be more honest about it's quality.... Its not even a year. Arkham Knight takes place 9 months after the events of Arkham City. It is, as far as Rocksteady is concerned. After this, they probably want to move on to other game series and begin new franchises. If any future Arkham games are made, they will most likely be done by Warner Games Montreal, who made Arkham Origins. No. Rocksteady has opted to go with its own writing staff to finish the story. Prior to the game's final mission, Batman realizes he must surrender himself to Scarecrow to save Robin and Jim. However, if you don't do it, then nothing happens. You can continue the game as normal, the story mode just won't end until you surrender. Plus, every now and then Scarecrow will come on the PA to taunt Batman. Villains: The Scarecrow, The Arkham Knight, Two-Face, The Penguin, The Riddler, Harley Quinn. Firefly, Professor Pyg, Deathstroke, Deacon Blackfire, and Man-Bat.

Allies: Gordon, Oracle, Officer Cash, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and Azrael

Also Poison Ivy sides with Batman, though it's as a tentative truce. She ends up sacrificing herself and dies saving Gotham from the Scarecrow's toxins

The Joker returns as a voice inside Batman's head as well as a series of hallucinations throughout the game. He "helps" Batman along the way, offering clues and insight Yes. Joker is in the game and in a large way. Though he's not alive, he is inside Batman's mind due to the effects of his blood still being inside Batman after the events in Arkham City. He shows up constantly throught out the game, talking to Batman and commenting on the events going on....

EDIT He don't see the Joker because of Jokers blood, but because of Cranes toxin. He is infected by the toxin in the beginning of the game, when he tries to save Gotham from the toxin Jason Todd. The game claims he became Red Hood after the events of it had ended. He initially took on a different persona and went after Batman, believing that Batman never cared about him and simply replaced him entirely. During the events of the game he was a supervillain with the goal of killing Batman and everyone he loves. Only at the end of it he changes his mind and becomes a vigilante, although, unlike Batman, he is willing to kill. a5c7b9f00b
