Punch Combinations For Beginners - A Comprehensive List Of Pounds With A Knockout Punch

Anyone just beginning to learn how to box should keep in mind that an impressive boxing prowess usually comes down to mastering the six (6) most vital boxing punches. These six punches are broken down into a simple punch sequence which is at the heart of all successful boxing attacks. The punches are categorized by either an uppercut a hook or in some cases a cross that connects with the opponent's face.

 

The uppercut is thrown with a quick snap of the arm from either the front or back of the shoulder. This punch can be deceptive, as it appears to miss the opponent but actually goes straight through his skull! Most fighters use the jab as an option instead of a hook when using boxing punches. A jab is thrown with a low and quick pace and is very deceptive and effective.

 

The third type of punch is the cross. This is thrown in the opposite direction of where the uppercut was thrown. The cross also connects with the uppercut and opponent will often pay attention to the cross. The cross is ideal for those who want to surprise their opponent and draw him into a clinch. It's a good idea not to use the cross too much unless you are being attacked with the uppercut.

 

The last type of punch combination that we will look at is the throw. This is a combination of throwing a straight punch and an uppercut. The throw connects with the opponent when the former strikes him from a distance. These punches are very effective when they come to the middle of the opponent's range of motion, since the uppercut will send him stumbling backwards. They are also very deceptive, as they seem to connect on a completely different hinge than the hooks and uppercuts do.

 

With these three different types of punches in boxing, we can see how easy it is to throw your opponent off-guard. When you are on an even weight platform with someone, you will be able to throw them off-guard because you will have so many combinations available to you. Even if they have experienced fighters on their team or trained extensively in Muay Thai kickboxing, you will still be able to throw them off-guard. This is possible because you have several different combinations at your disposal. Once the fight gets underway, you will likely find that your opponent is not prepared for your throws and will either quit or fall to the ground, putting you in the winning position.

 

Another thing that I like about using the knockout punch number system in boxing is that it allows you to train all of your punches in one place. This means that you do not have to go back and forth and train different punches in each direction. If you have a lot of variations in your punches, then you are probably going to miss something or be careless in applying them. By working on just one system, you will be able to improve all of your punches. This also makes the number system a very easy system to learn from.

 

Finally, there is another reason to learn all of the punches in one system. When you use the knockout punch system, it will help you improve all aspects of your defense as well. Since all of your fists will work together, you will be able to defend yourself better than if you had a number of fist strikes, each with its own purpose and ability. In the end, you should be able to defend yourself effectively and prevent your opponents from striking you out with their arms, legs, or mouth.
